Back At Last

Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you know that I made it safely to Jeffrey's Bay. My travels were extremely smooth and uneventful, which was a nice change! My friend Veronica picked me up at the airport in Port Elizabeth, about an hour's drive from Jbay. As we drove into the base, a few of my little friends were there to greet me, which was so exciting - as soon as they hugged me, they said, "Lunsay? Where are the toffees?" I had told them before I left in March that I'd bring them back some chocolate. I decided not to bring any food with me to avoid declaring things in customs, so I didn't have anything like that for them, but I'd brought stickers and pencils, which they accepted.

I had a lovely supper with people at the base, though it was so quiet - there are very few people here right now! That will change when the DTS gets back from outreach, and when the new DTS comes(which I'll be staffing! Woohoo!). We start staff training on the 6th, according to my friend Billy... so until then I guess I'll just be getting readjusted.

I woke up this morning to BLAM BLAM BLAM! "Lunsay!" I recognized that voice - it was my 10 year old friend Maylene... but I was too tired to face anyone. I did get up, though, and had breakfast, and then bought a cell phone! If anyone would like to call me, let me know and I'll send you my number.

I better get going - I hope everyone is well. Please stay in touch - I need your love, encouragement and support.

I love you so much!

Lindsay

Hope you settle in soon and get into the rhythm of things. I assume your address is still the same?
