Mother Teresa

I really love Mother Teresa. I think she was an absolutely stunning woman. Today I picked up a book that I gave Mom for Christmas a few years ago called "The Joy In Loving," Mother Teresa quotes for every day of the year compiled by Jaya Chalika and Edward LeJoly. I didn't even pick it out for her - Dad did. I hardly even looked at it before putting it in a gift bag with crumpled tissue paper and a card. It's a shame, really, because I could have learned a lot. I'm just glad it was still sitting on the shelf today when I had the sudden urge to learn more about this interesting lady.

The first chapter, the introduction, gives a clear and concise synopsis of her life. One part resonated with me:

"For Mother, Jesus is everything - the beginning, the middle and the end of her work, of her whole enterprise. There is no need to seek elsewhere, for Jesus explains all that has been done. Mother claims no credit for herself. On the contrary, she says: 'I don't do it, he does it. I am only an instrument in his hand. I am surer of this than of my own life.'"

What selflessness! What an example. Then I flipped the pages to find what tidbit of wisdom she had for May 1st, and this is what I read:

"People who love each other fully and truly are the happiest people in the world. They may have little, they may have nothing but they are happy people. Everything depends on how we love one another."

I want to live like that, and I want to love like that. I love love.

Sending love your way today.

p.s. I just finished watching the movie titled "Mother Teresa" - definitely worth a watch.

Have you heard anything about Mother Theresa kinda losing her faith in the last few years? I was reading something along those lines on Wikipedia and found it a bit weird...

She was truly inspirational though. I also love love.

That seems really hard to believe, after watching the movie. She was pretty hardcore. But who knows?
