So America is different... in a few ways. It's hot. People have accents. I am corrected on my spellings of "favourite" and "colour." But other than that, there are times that I forget I'm not in my homeland. Last week I was sitting with two young girls from South Korea. Their mother is in one of the YWAM programs and so they come to the base for dinner every night. They are incredibly sweet. So I was asking them questions about their experiences here - what grade are you in, is it very different than your home, and of course, what's your favourite part about Canada? They looked at me strangely and the other people at the table didn't say anything at first - when I tried to explain myself, it suddenly dawned on me that they had no idea what I was talking about, most likely due to the fact that WE'RE NOT IN CANADA! Oh man. I felt pretty dumb. Since then, I've tried to remember that I'm in the States.
I wanted to put a few more pictures up here to give you an idea about where I live and what I'm doing.
This is the neighbourhood that I live in:

It's called "Pershing Villas" but it's on JonJon court.

This is the inside of my house:

That's all for now! Love you and miss you.

Wow Lindsay! It sounds like you're having an awesome time. I am glad that you updated because I wanted to hear about all the awesome things you are doing and learning. It seems like you have a really neat set up there with staying in a house with other students. Do you get to choose your community responsibilities? When I did my dts we got to sign up for what we thought we were good at (we didn't necessarily get that but we had some choice in the matter).
I loved hearing the voice of God week and learning about intercession. Oh I am so excited for you !!! YAY
Are there many international people in your DTS? Don't worry about feeling old, God has brought you there at this time! oh I could write so much!!!
Love you lots...and don't change the way you spell coloUr or NeighboUr, that's part of your national identity;)
can't wait for more news!
