Canadian Thanksgiving in the USA

Even though it's not thanksgiving here for another month, I had a lovely Thanksgiving weekend. There are about 7 other Canadians at this base, so we decided to have our own thanksgiving dinner. When I told my roommates about it, they bombarded me with questions like, "YOU have Thanksgiving? Why? You didn't have pilgrims!" "What do YOU have to be thankful for?" "Are crepes part of a traditional thanksgiving dinner in Canada?"(I had made crepes for lunch that day.) Sadly, I didn't really know much about the history behind Canadian Thanksgiving - I didn't invent it, I just eat the turkey, okay? We had a lovely time, with everything you could ever imagine at a Thanksgiving dinner. The best part about it is that I get to experience it all over again in a month! Here's a group shot of us:

We had a great time, talking about Timmy's, hockey and all things Canadian. It was very refreshing.

Things continue to be awesome. Here's a couple more pictures.

Love to you all!!!

Lindsay! The leaf is beautiful. Are there lots of leaves that fall in Florida?

Just the odd one.. most of them are still on the trees! I sort of miss fall.. but I got to see it in the Yukon and in Ontario, so I'm not complaining too much. :)

Hey Linds,
I'm glad to hear that you got to celebrate Thanksgiving (even if you have to remind yourself that you're not in Canada!) lol Too cute! :) I agree with Brenda.. the leaf pic is absolutely stunning.

I love & miss you! God bless.

Yo. Thanksgiving is great. Kathryn and I went to her families place and ate so much food it was ridiculous.

I read this from time to time, and I'm pretty sure Kathryn does too! Keep us posted :D

I can see why others like the leaf, but I had no idea anyone had commented on it when I was coming in here to write about it. I wanted to say I definitely saw it as a triceratops for a few seconds before I realized it is a leaf. So I think it is really neat for that reason.

That being said, your course and such sounds soo awesome. I am soo jealous :)

blessings to you Linds,
Garth
