1/4 way through the lecture phase

Our leader Dean informed us this morning that we are halfway through the lecture phase of the DTS. Scary! Every day I am falling more and more in love with God and this program. This past week we talked about the Father heart of God. I learned so many new things. Coming into the DTS, I felt like I knew pretty much all there was to know about Jesus and that I was well on my way in my Christian walk. But oh man - I'm learning so many things - I'm learning that there is always more to learn! It's almost as if I'm learning things for the first time. The way information is presented here is awesome. I am constantly comparing my classes to the courses I took at MTA. The main difference is that our teachers pray for us before they come and truly love us. At the beginning of every class, a few people speak up and share something that they learned from class the previous day, to encourage both the teacher and the rest of the class. It is such a welcoming, friendly environment and I love it. I love going to classes. I soak it up - I'm taking notes like never before. I'm in my element! Our teacher last week was Michael Berg, our base director. He was an awesome teacher and I learned so much from him. He talked a lot about forgiveness and restoration. On Friday we spent the entire day in prayer. We were given a list of people or groups(Mother, Father, Romantic Partners, Government, Police, Aunt, Uncle, etc) to forgive. Out of the 20 people listed, my small group didn't even make it halfway through. It was an intense, emotionally draining, but awesome day. I can't believe how God broke through... the healing that happened was amazing.

So far I've managed to convert my housemates into swing dancing, Michael Buble lovas. Now all I need to do is get them into crocheting...

On Saturday we went to Cocoa beach, about a 45 minute drive. It was sooo nice - warm water, waves, sharks... (we didn't see any, but apparently if you parasail above the ocean you can see sharks swimming around the people.) We had a lovely day. Here are some pictures:
